About The Client

This project involved upgrading a newly built studio apartment into a refined, boutique-style living space. The goal was to create a warm, minimalistic Afro-Modern interior that supports modern living and short-term rental use. The focus was on improving spatial clarity, interior quality, and overall visual cohesion. The renovation centered on architectural detailing, material upgrades, and intentional space planning within the existing studio layout.

The Problem

The studio lacked identity, spatial definition, and premium interior finishes. The open-plan layout did not clearly separate the living, sleeping, kitchen, and bathroom areas. The interior felt basic and did not reflect a cohesive or elevated design standard. The space needed architectural and interior upgrades to improve functionality, comfort, and visual appeal. A structured studio renovation was required to create a more refined and intentional living environment.

Our Approach

The renovation focused on spatial zoning, custom interior features, and coordinated material finishes. A sculptural slatted divider and V-shaped fluted feature wall defined the bedroom nook while maintaining openness. The kitchen was upgraded with ceiling-height cabinetry, glossy black finishes, soft-close hinges, and a concealed extractor hood to improve both function and visual scale.

The bathroom was modernized with a clear glass shower enclosure, marble-effect tiles, waterproof cabinetry, and floating storage shelves. Warm neutral wall tones, geometric detailing, and brushed brass lighting fixtures were used throughout to create a cohesive Afro-Modern studio interior.

The Impact

The studio was transformed into a fully intentional, boutique-style living space with improved spatial clarity and interior quality. The zoning strategy allowed the apartment to function like a compact one-bedroom layout without structural changes.

Upgraded finishes, custom cabinetry, and architectural feature walls elevated the overall interior standard. The completed unit now operates as a boutique-style Airbnb, attracting consistent bookings due to its distinctive design and refined presentation.
